A beneficial aspect of karate is we can always train on our own. I recommend training with other students and sensei, but sometimes this isn't an option.
Over time, my self training routines have grew into something I love. Before I use to struggle and I'd spend more time looking into space thinking about what to train. Now I start and just start training what comes to mind. This time it was Sharpening up my Zuki. (Punching). I started from Shizentai, slowly punching, increasing the speed, having no build up, just punching from complete relaxation. Double punching to build speed. The next lesson for the night was Tekki Nidan. Out of the three Tekki kata, I love this one. Not sure why, but I won't argue with it 😅. So Tekki Nidan it was, slow, fast, slow and fast. Working on connections and stability. Working on a flow of movement. To finish, some open handed work. I love the open handed work. Quite often I'm questioned on how I could use it, so I sit in the kamae and visualise different attacks coming in and how I could possibly defend this. ( This is when a partner or student comes in handy 😅). To finish, a slow seizure, enjoying a much needed rest in silence 🥋😊
Be sure to check out the video so you can see how i got on 😊🥋
